A Little Birthday Get-Together For My Bestie

If you follow me on Insta, @snobbishmedia, you probably saw that a posted a couple pictures from the little get-together that I threw for my friend’s birthday. It was by no means a huge party, but it turned out so cute so I thought I would make a more in depth post on here for anyone who wanted more of the details.

First of all, how cute did the decorations turn out?!!! My friend’s favorite color is pink, as you can probably tell, so of course I had to go with all pink decorations. I always like decorating my house for people’s birthdays and I usually will get supplies from Party City, but this time I got a birthday decoration kit on Amazon, which was actually way less expensive & it looked just as good.

This is everything that comes with it, which is surprisingly a lot. Also, here’s the link for anyone that’s interested.

Also, the white pompous grass I used as decoration is from the floral section at Bristol Farms, but I’m sure there are plenty of alternatives that you can get online/on Amazon.

For the food, I kept it pretty simple.

As an appetizer, I just made a charcuterie board because you can’t really go wrong with that. I got all of the meats, cheeses and crackers from Trader Joes. Trader Joe’s is one of the best places to get things for a charcuterie board because their products aren’t too pricy, but at the same time they taste amazing. The cheeses that I used (& would recommend) are the Old Amsterdam gouda, the unexpected cheddar, and the blueberry goat cheese. Other things I added to spice up the board are rosemary sprigs, dried citrus slices (these are super easy to make at home), chocolate squares, roasted nuts, berries, and honey.

Sorry this pic is kind of blurry, but for dinner I got us all sushi boxes from Sugarfish, which I just had postmated to my house. Sugarfish is basic, but it hits every time. I also just didn’t want to worry about cooking anything and I can always count on the boxes to look pretty.

The cake:

Not going to lie, I’m kind of obsessed with how the cake turned out & it was so easy to do. I just got a plain caramel & vanilla bundt cake from Bristol Farms and decided decorated it myself. To do this, I used a bunch of sprinkles from the cutest brand, called Sweetapolita, and I also topped it with some raspberries and roses. That’s literally it and it looks like it came from a professional bakery, if I do say so myself.
