I Tried the Famous Kardashian Salads from Health Nut

If you haven’t heard of Health Nut, you probably known them more famously as the “Kardashian salads” that they are always eating/shaking around on their show (in case you aren’t a fan of the show, the Kardashians' go-to order is the Chinese chicken salad and the mango iced greentini). For the longest time I have always wanted to try these salads because I feel like they are constantly raving about them, but I truthfully had no desire to drive all the way to the valley just for a salad. Now that they recently opened one where I live, I finally was able to try it & wanted to share my honest opinion about them.

What I ordered:

  • Chinese chicken salad (obviously)

  • Strawberry mango greentini (I know they order just the mango greentini, but this one sounded better in my opinion)

  • My boyfriend ordered the Noodlerama, which I also tried (consists of rice noodles, shredded chicken breast, carrots, cucumbers, and pickled ginger, served on lettuce with our spicy asian dressing)

My thoughts:

I have to be real, usually I feel like the Kardashians are always spot on with their recommendations, but these salads were honestly kind of underwhelming. By no means were they bad, but it literally was just a huge bowl of iceberg lettuce with some chicken on top. Nothing really that groundbreaking. Even the little dried chow mein noodles on top were bland (like everyone knows wonton skins are 100 times superior on a Chinese chicken salad). Also, before coming here, I assumed that their dressings would be homemade, considering that’s what most other specialty salads shops do (like Sweetgreen for example), but the dressing literally comes in those plastic packets.

Here’s a pic for reference, since I forgot to take one of the sauce packet when I ordered it. I feel like if they made their dressings in-house, it would make such a huge difference in the quality of the overall salad.

Final thought:

Between the Chinese chicken salad and the Noodlerama, I actually really enjoyed the Noodlerama and would potentially order it again if I ever come here again. Also, they serve sandwiches here, so I’d kind of be down to try that too.
