One Step Pound Cake

It's finally June, and I’m excited to share another family recipe with you all: a super simple one step pound cake with a slight hint of citrus. This dessert is perfect for the summer season, whether you're bringing it to a dinner party, baking it for a friend, or simply enjoying it yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c flour

  • 2 c sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 c softened butter

  • 1 c sour cream or mandarin orange yogurt

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 tsp grated lemon peel (optional)

What to do

  • preheat over at 325 degrees fahrenheit

  • combine in large mixer bowl & blend at a low speed

  • beat for 3 min at medium speed

  • pour into a greased and floured bundt pan

  • bake for 60-70 min until top of cake springs back when touched lightly in center

  • cool cake upright pan 15 min

  • remove pan & cool completely

  • optional but i’d recommend: top with icing & garnishes of your choice (I chose to do a lemon icing to stick with the citrus theme & topped it with edible sparkles and dried citrus slices.)
