What A Guy’s Listed Dating Intentions on His Hinge Profile Says About Him

What a guy chooses to list as his dating intentions on his Hinge profile can say a lot about him. While there are always nuances based on each person individually, here is my general take on what each intention means.

Disclaimer: This is from the perspective of someone in their early 20s & is just my opinion lol.

Life partner

I feel like, in theory, this should be a green flag, but there's something about it that feels a little too bold. Of course, I want a life partner too at some point, but putting that front and center on your profile feels borderline aggressive. When I see this, it always gives off potential love-bomber energy, but to each their own.

Long-term relationship

This is typically a green flag. Obviously this won’t guarantee that he will necessarily want a long-term relationship specifically with you, but I respect a guy who at least puts out that he wants something substantial.

Long-term relationship, open to short

I wouldn’t say that this is necessarily a red or green flag, but proceed with caution. This type of guy, in most cases, probably doesn’t really know what he wants, but will be definitely be down to just hook up & not text you back. There might be a chance something actually comes out of this, but don’t expect to be the exception to the rule. It really could go either way.

Short-term relationship, open to long

This type of guy will most likely take you on a rollercoaster of a situationship. Buckle up & prepare for a large helping of breadcrumbs with a side of ghosting. It’s an absolute no from me.

Short-term relationship

Unapologetic fuckboy. But, I honestly thank him for his service for letting me know that I should skip him IMMEDIATELY.

Figuring out my dating goals

Please just excuse yourself, sir.

Has no intention listed

Neutral territory. This man is playing it safe, which is fair.
