Review: Ashland Seltzers
Even though I barely drink these days because of the fact that alcohol really doesn't have any beneficial health effects, this still doesn’t stop me from being on the look out for cute new drinks to try out. Maybe my friends and I are the only ones, but we are so over basic ass White Claws & we also all agree that Trulys taste so nasty and artificial. So, the newest brand I stumbled across is this seltzer company called Ashland Seltzer, which is based out of San Diego, & I was initially so attracted to them based on how adorable the packaging was. Also, besides just aesthetics, you literally can't tell me that these flavors don’t sound amazing: Tropical Cherry, Raspberry Lemonade, Watermelon, Mango Strawberry.
While the packaging and flavors were super intriguing, besides the Mango Strawberry, I really did not like the way that these tasted. I feel like they didn’t actually taste like the flavors they were describing and for some reason they tasted overwhelmingly floral and bitter. Also, I recently found out Lauryn and Michael Bosstick of The Skinny Confidential and Dear Media are partial owners in this company, so this makes me even more sad that I didn’t like the product because I love them.
Overall for presentation/packaging, I would give Ashland Seltzer a 9/10, but for actual flavor I would give them a 5/10. Like obviously if there was nothing else to drink they are tolerable, but I would definitely not repurchase them.
