I Made A Charcuterie Board!

IMG_4480.jpg

So recently my boyfriend has been doing so much for me & being the sweetest person ever, so I came up with absolutely brilliant idea of surprising him with a little picnic on the beach. I thought making a charcuterie board was a super cute idea, so being the extra ass bitch that I am, I obviously had to go all out so I can have a valid excuse to casually eat 10 pounds of cheese.

Although a lot of places I have seen on insta try to sell these types of boards for so much money, they are actually sooo easy to make and don’t cost that much either. I’m definitely no professional when it comes to making the them, but I’m so proud of how it turned out & want to share how I did it so you can make one too and impress every person you know.

So mainly everything I got was from Trader Joe’s, but I’ll go into more detail about specific products I use & recommend.

Cheeses:

  • Old Amsterdam Age Gouda

Not gonna lie, but this cheese is actually life changing. My boyfriend talked about it a while ago to me, but this was my first time trying it and I’m addicted.

  • Unexpected Cheddar

This cheese is also so fucking delicious. Just get it, trust me.

  • Silver Goat Chevre

I love using goat cheese because it adds a super creamy and tangy element that’s different than most of the other cheese I used.

  • Brie

Lol I don’t remember which brie I got, but brie is always a must when having a charcuterie.

Fruit:

  • Raspberries

  • Figs

I didn’t do anything crazy when it came to fruits, but raspberries are one of my favorites & I chose to use figs because I feel like they are chic.

Meats

  • Salchichon

  • Del Duca Jamón Serrano

  • Chorizo Cantimpalo

Trader Joe’s makes it super easy because they sell these packs of three different kinds of meats that specifically pair well together, instead of having to buy a bunch of individuals packages and figuring out what will vibe well. There were different kinds, but I chose the Spanish style meats.

Accompaniments:

  • Bonne Maman Apricot Preserves

Bonne Maman has the best jams and preserves, which adds a sweet element to the board.

  • Medjool Dates

Another sweet element. I only recently started eating dates, but I am literally obsessed now.

  • Feta & Olives in Herbed Oil

  • Pistachios

Crackers:

  • Trader Joe’s Cracker Assortment

Probably the most boring part of the whole board, so that’s why I put it last. There were a lot of cracker options but I decided to just get the assortment pack to keep it uniform, but also have different options.

Decorations:

  • Edible Flowers

Edible flowers are literally the easiest and most beautiful touch to bring the board together appearance-wise. These can sometimes be overpriced at the store, but I used the ones from my mom’s vegetable & herb garden.
