So pretty much anyone that knows me knows that I almost always have a smoothie for breakfast. Especially in high school and during college before everything was done online due to the corona virus, I found that it is so much easier to quickly drink a smoothie before having to leave the house than to sit down and eat an entire cooked breakfast. For a period of time, I also just found food to be so unappetizing after first waking up, but smoothies would always hit the spot and give me energy throughout the day. In honor of this, I thought I would share my favorite smoothie that I pretty much have all the time. Obviously I like to switch it up, but this one is my go to & literally tastes like a milkshake!

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (Tera’s Whey is the brand I like to use)

  • 1.5 tablespoons of peanut butter

  • 3 spoons of hemp hearts (optional but a good source of protein and omegas)

  • Use 5-8 oz of any kind of plant milk that you like based on your preferred thickness or thinness (I used almond milk)

  • 1 handful of ice

  • A sprinkle of cacao nibs (optional but adds a nice crunch element)

What to do:

  • Pretty self explanatory, but add all of the ingredient into the blender until there are no more chunks and then enjoy! It’s super simple, but this is literally the best combination and is also a healthy way to start off the day.
