What I Made for Mother’s Day
Literally nobody asked, but I really want to show every what I did for my mom this year because I think it turned out so cute! It was nothing too crazy, but it’s the thought that counts!
Pretty much all of my preparation started the day prior where I got most of the food I was planning to make from Whole Foods and the Playa Vista Farmer’s Market. I literally have been so obsessed with the farmer’s market as of recently because I think it is so important to support local businesses, while also getting products that are super fresh. Also, if you haven’t been before, Playa Vista is such a vibe. Everything there is so new and it feels like you’re in an actual utopia when you’re there.
Literally look at how chic these flower bouquets are that a woman at the farmer’s market custom makes with whatever flowers you want. My boyfriend and I both bought some for our moms, which they absolutely loved!
On the actual day of Mother’s Day, I made my mom the cutest bagel and lox “charcuterie” style spread with berries and mimosas on the side. This was super easy to prepare since I didn’t have to cook anything and it also just looks extremely presentable.
Dinner was also so delicious and easy because I picked up some freshly-made, heart shaped, lobster ravioli and short-rib tortellini from a vendor at the farmer’s market. With the lobster ravioli, I made a spicy vodka sauce and with the tortellini, I paired it with a homemade, creamy pesto sauce and roasted tomatoes. I honestly wasn’t sure how it would turn out since I have never tried anything from that business before, but it was a total hit. The lobster rav was definitely the overall favorite.
For the best part, AKA DESSERT, i made literally the best chocolate cake ever!!!! I always use the same recipe from this random website i found years ago, but it turns out perfect every time.
I hope everyone else had the best Mother’s Day ever and got to share the day with the women that they love!
